Regression Therapy

While some people believe that the memories accessed during past life hypnotherapy are real, others see them as symbolic representations of the subconscious mind's way of processing unresolved issues. Regardless of the belief in reincarnation, proponents of past life hypnotherapy argue that it can be a powerful tool for self-discovery, emotional healing, and personal transformation.

This Life Regression

Most phobias and unwanted behaviours originate from an earlier experience, often occurring within the first seven years of childhood. When the unconscious mind, which creates these phobias as a form of protection, realizes that this protection is no longer needed, the phobia is either significantly diminished or completely eliminated. In essence, analytical hypnotherapy is about uncovering root causes and then reframing their impact, often through a process known as 'this life regression.'

People often ask if altering the effect of a past event will change a client's character. The answer is no – it won't change who they are, but it will restore their control over their own behaviour. A typical range of issues that analytical hypnotherapy may address includes: - Phobias, such as fear of spiders, water, dogs, or needles. - Unexplained physiological conditions, like headaches, rashes, or IBS. - Unwanted automatic behaviours, such as OCD, stuttering or sleepwalking.

Past Life Regression

The therapy involves guiding an individual into a deep state of relaxation or hypnosis to access memories or experiences from previous lives.

The idea is that unresolved issues, traumas, or patterns from these past lives could be influencing the person's current life, and by uncovering and understanding these past experiences, the individual can find healing and personal growth. During a typical session, a trained hypnotherapist will help the client reach a state of deep relaxation or trance, often using guided imagery, visualisation, or deep breathing techniques.

Once the client is in this relaxed state, the therapist may ask questions or give prompts to help the client access memories or images from what they perceive as past lives. The experiences recalled can vary widely, from specific events and places to emotions and physical sensations. The therapist helps the client navigate these memories, aiming to identify and release any negative patterns or emotional blocks.

The concept of Past Life Regression (PLR) is beautifully presented on The Oprah Winfrey Show featuring Dr Bryan Weiss, the world-renowned psychiatrist in the field of past life progression

The Past Life Regression experience was also explained in the Glamour Magazine Article

The concept of PLR was covered in Royal Collage of Psychiatry.

In an article by Dr. James Paul Pandarakalam, he explores the concept of Past Life Regression (PLR), its connections to reincarnation, and its validity as both a scientific and therapeutic tool

. Reincarnation is suggested as a possible explanation for various aspects of human personality and biology, although it's not scientifically proven. The article discusses Dr. Ian Stevenson's work, which highlights cases of children who spontaneously recall past lives and often have birthmarks or defects linked to the wounds of the deceased they allegedly remember. While Stevenson presents evidence that supports the possibility of reincarnation, he remains cautious, particularly about PLR, which he views sceptically due to its potential for generating fantasies rather than real memories.

The article describes notable cases studies, where individuals under hypnosis recalled detailed memories from past lives, some of which were later corroborated with historical facts. Therapeutically, PLR may offer psychological benefits by helping individuals process traumas or improve self-perception.
